Streams of Joy Daily Devotional 16th December 2022.

TOPIC: SPEAK RIGHT

Focal Scripture: Luke 1: 20

“And, behold, thou shalt be dumb, and not able to speak, until the day that these things shall be performed, because thou believest not my words, which shall be fulfilled in their season.”

That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.
After Zachariah heard the word of the Lord about the birth of his child, he reminded Angel Gabriel that he was old, and that his wife was stricken in years. Zachariah was already speaking words that were not in alignment with his prophecy. He was using his mouth against his prophecy. Notice that in our Focal Scripture, Gabriel told Zachariah that he would be dumb, and not be able to speak, until the word of the Lord is performed.

Friend, could it be possible that heaven has unveiled a great plan for your destiny, but you are currently speaking against it with your own mouth? Could it be possible that the plan of God for you is being sabotaged by the very words you are speaking from your own mouth? Could it be possible that you are missing out on the promises of God because your words are not in alignment with the word of the Lord concerning you?

Glean some wisdom: if you cannot speak in favour of what God is saying concerning you, at least, don’t speak against it. Don’t use your mouth to speak against your prophecy. Don’t speak words that will undermine and sabotage what heaven has ordained for you. Don’t be quick to give life to your doubts through the words you speak. Don’t allow your lack of faith to be put in words. Don’t spoil your future with your words.

Zechariah had no idea about how God was going to make his miracle happen, and he began querying same. Angel Gabriel knew the plan, and he was audacious enough to insist on the word of the Lord. Let the eyes of your understanding be opened to see the plan of the Lord; even when you have no idea what God is about to do, keep speaking life and keep speaking right. Even when you don’t know how it will be fulfilled, speak right.
Remember, Zachariah had to go silent until his miracle became his reality. Don’t use your mouth to speak negatively about your new season. If you must speak, speak right and speak life.
Proverbs 18: 21 says: “Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.”

Declare With Me: I refuse to speak against my new season, in Jesus’ name!
