NSPPD DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR TODAY
The Topic for Today 20th September 2023 Is: Out of Negativity
Focal Scripture: Joshua 2: 10
“For we have heard how the LORD dried up the water of the Red sea for you, when ye came out of Egypt; and what ye did unto the two kings of the Amorites, that were on the other side Jordan, Sihon and Og, whom ye utterly destroyed.”
That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.
In our Focal Scripture, Rahab mentioned how they heard about all that God had done for the children of Israel. The same Rahab who was first described as a harlot, was no longer speaking like a harlot. She did not allow her harlotry to stop her from becoming a better version of herself. She left harlotry behind and chose to speak of what the Lord was already doing for His people. Rahab dared to leave her past behind.
In our Focal Scripture, Rahab mentioned how they heard about all that God had done for the children of Israel. She left harlotry behind and chose to speak of what the Lord was already doing for His people. Rahab dared to leave her past behind.
Friend, even if you have been the worst of yourself in time past, leave that past and move on to the better version of yourself that God would have you become. Leave your past errors behind. Leave your past mistakes behind. Leave your failures behind. Leave your misadventures behind. Leave your worst life behind. Leave the things you have not done well behind. Leave your past negative history behind.
Rahab met with men who were about to give her a lifeline, and she did not mess it up by holding on to the failures and mistakes of her past. Life gave her a chance for a better tomorrow, and she did not mess it up by being fixated on her yesterday. As God opens the doors to a better tomorrow for you, don’t allow the pitfalls of your yesterday to keep you down. Don’t allow the negative identity you have garnered to stop you from rising.
Rahab’s conversation with the spies from Israel gave her off as one who knew what God was doing, rather than one who simply entertained men with her body. She pushed beyond her past and pushed into a better future. Break out of the bondage of your past and break into the better future that God ordained for you. Break away from the mistakes of yesterday and choose to live a better life than you have always lived.
How you lived yesterday may be your mistake, but how you live today and tomorrow is your choice to make.
