STREAMS OF JOY DAILY DEVOTIONAL 25TH OCTOBER 2022.

Topic: PREPARE TO RUN

Focal Scripture: Acts 12:

“And the angel said unto him, Gird thyself, and bind on thy sandals. And so he did. And he saith unto him, Cast thy garment about thee, and follow me.”

That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.

In our Focal Scripture, the angel of the Lord told Peter to gird himself. In bible times, the Jews mostly wore flowing garments; and when anyone was asked to gird his loins or gird his garment, the idea was to tuck in one’s flowing garment into a girdle worn around the waist, to make room for fast paced movements. So the angel was not asking Peter to prepare for slow movement; it was a demand for Peter to prepare for fast movement.

Friend, as the Lord leads you out of that prison where you have been locked up, be careful to engage in fast paced movements. Don’t just stroll out of your prison. Don’t even walk out of your prison. RUN out of your prison. Move like one who has no time to waste. Move like one who has already lost time and needs to move forward. Move like one who has a target to hit briskly. Move speedily towards your new season.

The fact that divine intervention had come the way of Peter was not an excuse to walk slowly out of the prison. God did not deliver him so that he could act like one who had not lost time. God did not bring you out of that prison and out of that affliction so that you can move slowly in destiny. God brought you out because there are months and years that you have lost that need to be restored. God brought you out so that you can recover.

Your new season does not require slow movement. Your new doors and gates that have been opened to you require you to move faster than your opposition. If you fail to move as fast as you should, your Herod may catch up with you and take you back to prison. If you fail to run instead of walking, the same affliction you have just escaped from may come back to meet you. For every time wasted, respond with speedy movements.

When heaven moves you forward, don’t make the mistake of slow movements. Move faster than ever before. Prepare for speedy movements.

Isaiah 40: 31 says: “But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”

Declare With Me: No more slow movements; I run, I soar, in Jesus’ name!
