History of World Healing Center Church
Who is the founder of World Healing Center Church?
Prior to starting ministry in the 1980s, Benny Hinn surrendered his heart and life to Jesus Christ in February 1972. His life moved in a positive direction as high school friends prayed with him.
In December 1973, Benny Hinn attended a miracle healing service led by Kathryn Kuhlman in Pittsburgh, along with other Christians. Although he never met Kuhlman personally, her impact on him was profound. During that service, he had a life-changing religious experience when he received a vision of people falling into a roaring fire and heard a clear message that he would be responsible for their souls if he did not preach. This experience led him to begin preaching and claim that God miraculously cured him of a severe stutter. He also started imitating Kuhlman and even sponsored services endorsed by the Kathryn Kuhlman Foundation.
Soon afterward, he was called to minister the Gospel. In April 1974, he had an encounter, little did he know that it would last him a life time. He received a vision of people falling into a roaring inferno and heard the words:
if you do not preach, every soul that falls will be your responsibility!
He suffered a stuttering problem, which was totally healed On December 7, 1974. It was exactly four days after his 22nd birthday, Benny Hinn stood behind a pulpit to preach the Gospel for the first time. From that moment, he would fearlessly seek to fulfill our Lord’s Great Commission.
In 1979, Benny Hinn moved to the United States and settled in Orlando, where he met Suzanne Harthern, who would later become his wife.
In 1983, Benny Hinn founded Orlando Christian Center and began performing miracles and conducting healing services, believing that God was using him as a conduit for supernatural deeds. His “Miracle Crusades” soon gained popularity worldwide and were televised across America by 1989.
In 1990, Benny Hinn launched a new daily talk show called This Is Your Day. The programme airs clips of miracles from Benny Hinn’s Miracle Crusades. The TV program, This Is Your Day, is among the world’s most-watched Christian programs, and is seen daily in 200 countries.
In 1999, he handed over the leadership of Orlando Christian Center to Clint Brown, moving his ministry’s administrative headquarters to Grapevine, Texas, a suburb of Fort Worth, so that he could focus entirely on his travel and crusade ministry.

Note: From mid-morning through afternoon — usually day before the conference or before services begin. The Setup Teams help to set up the venue in preparation of the upcoming services. As a team, we will actually turn the venue into a church!
Setup volunteers may be asked to lift heavy items. You will want to wear comfortable work clothes. You will also receive special seating for you and a guest.
At least 10 setup volunteers are needed, more are welcome.
