TOPIC FOR TODAY 1ST JANUARY 2023: BURNING AND SHINING LIGHT

Focal Scripture: John 5: 35

“He was a burning and a shining light: and ye were willing for a season to rejoice in his light.”

That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.

In our Focal Scripture, as Jesus Himself spoke about John the Baptist, He referred to him as a burning and shining light. Jesus didn’t only call him a shining light; He also called Him a burning light. John the Baptist was described as a light that was not going to be merely or easily switched off. He was a light that was going to burn as well as shine. He was that light that would give light perpetually because it was also burning and flaming.

Friend, hear me as I hear the Lord: in 2023, you have heaven’s mandate to operate as a burning and shining light. You are that light that will blaze no matter the evil wind that blows. You are that light that will not go off. You are that light that will put darkness to flight. You are that light that will show your generation the way to go. You are that light that will close chapters of negativity. You are that light that will burn the hands of the enemy.

John the Baptist was not only going to shine; he was also going to burn as he shines. He was going to carry that fire that burns and consumes. Hear me as I hear the Lord: the fire that God is putting in your inner man this year will not only cause you to shine; it will also empower you to burn down every satanic structure around you. The fire of God in you this year will put the enemies of your destiny to flight. The fire of God in you this year will make your destiny too hot to tamper with.

This year, as you shine, also ensure that you are burning. When you become that light that will shine brightly, all manner of destiny insects will come your way, and if you are not burning, they will stick to you. The moment you become that light that will shine brightly, you will naturally be a target for the enemy, and you had better be on real fire. Make no room for ashes on your altar. Make no room for fireless moments.
Welcome to that year where your light will burn more than ever before. You are that man that will burn and shine in 2023.
