NSPPD DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR TODAY

The Topic for Today 15th September 2023 Is: Hidden Results

Focal Scripture: Joshua 2: 6
“But she had brought them up to the roof of the house, and hid them with the stalks of flax, which she had laid in order upon the roof.”

That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.

Our Focal Scripture speaks of the stalks of flax which Rahab laid on her roof. So apart from being a harlot, Rahab was also involved in agriculture. Apart from having something negative which seemed to swallow her identity, she also had a noble vocation that yielded increase to her. Notice that when it was time to hide the spies from Israel, she hid them under the flax she harvested. Rahab’s results provided cover for the spies.

Friend, I pray for you: may God grant you results that can be a cover for you in vulnerable moments. May God grant you results that will take the eyes of your adversaries away from you. May God grant you results that will help hide your ‘spies’. May God grant you results that will make what needs to be covered to remain covered. May God grant you results that will make your haters and mockers to stay away from you.

Those who branded Rahab a harlot may not have had an idea that she had more to do than just being a harlot. She did more, but was underestimated. There is wisdom in doing more than people imagine you can do. There is wisdom in having more capacity than people imagine you truly have. There is wisdom in being more than eyes can see. There is wisdom in having capacity beyond where eyes can see.

The stalks of flax which were Rahab’s proceeds from agriculture, were hidden away on the roof. You had to go up there to know she had something there. If you have nothing that can only be discovered when men go up or dig deeper, then you should be asking God to show you mercy for a better output in life. If you are not more than what eyes can readily see, then you are playing below your destiny mandate.

The era of being less when you can be more, is over. It’s okay to be underestimated by men, though you have capacity for more. May God grant you that result that will keep your adversaries guessing.

1 Corinthians 2: 9 says: “But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.”

Declare With Me: I will be more whilst my adversaries see less, in Jesus’ name!
