JOYCE MEYER DEVOTION FOR TODAY
Jesus is closer to you than you may think. He is not only with you, but He is living inside of you. You are the temple of the Holy Spirit (see 1 Corinthians 6:19). Every time I think about this powerful spiritual truth, it amazes me more and more, and knowing He is close to me makes me feel closer to Him.
Too often, we think of God as being far away, in His holy place, and of ourselves as trying to reach Him. Although our Father is in heaven and Jesus is seated at His right hand, He also lives in us through His Spirit. We should never doubt that God is always near to us and ready to help us.
I encourage you to dwell on God’s promise to never leave you (see Hebrews 13:5). Meditate specifically on today’s scripture, which reminds you that Jesus is in the Father, that you are in Jesus, and that Jesus is in you. Practice thinking about how close He is to you, and talk with Him throughout the day, as you would speak to anyone else who is with you all the time. Develop a holy friendship with Him, always being respectful and reverent yet also relaxed and comfortable in His presence.

Father, thank You for never leaving me and for being close to me at all times. I’m amazed that You choose to live in me and grateful for my relationship with You, amen.
