DAVID OYEDEPO RECIEVES MEDAL FROM LONG JUMP ATLETHE – ESE BRUME

Ese Brume is a Young Nigerian athlete (born 20 January 1996) who specializes in the Women’s long jump. According to wikipedia, She is the current commonwealth champion and a three-time African senior champion in the long Jump and holds a personal best of 7.17 m (23 ft 6+1⁄4 in). She currently holds the commonwealth games record, African junior record and African record in the event. She’s a two time medalist at the world athletics championship, an Olympic bronze medalist and also a five-time African junior champion in athletics.

She is also the only athlete to win three consecutive Long Jump titles at the African Championships in Athletics as well as the first African to win two Long Jump medals at the World Athletics Championships.

For the records; Brume was the long jump gold medalist at the;



  • 2013 African Junior Athletics Championships,
  • 2014 Commonwealth Games
  • 2014 African Senior Athletics Championships and
  • 2015 African Junior Athletics Championships.
  • She also represented Nigeria at the World Junior Championships in Athletics in 2014.
  • Brume represented Nigeria at the 2016 Olympic Games where she placed 5th in the Long Jump final with a leap of 6.81m
  • Brume won the bronze medal in the Long Jump event at the 2019 World Athletics Championships in Doha, with a jump of 6.91 m and at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, with a jump of 6.97 m

In 2022, she went on to become the first African woman in history to jump four legal marks over 7.00m. While competing, Brume took the bronze medal, making her the second Nigerian and African woman after Blessing Okagbare to make the podium in the long jump. This time around in Oregon, she started out with a jump of 6.61m and then improved on her mark to 6.88m, before launching out to an impressive season’s best of 7.02m which put her in the lead.

Speaking after the victory, Brume, gave thanks to God and said, “I’m super super excited you know bronze turns gold I’m so happy to God I’m grateful God did it,  it wasn’t by my power neither was it by my might but because of His grace which He has bestowed upon my life.”

Brume explained the significance of her achievement, adding, “I came here to impact the lives of younger ones and those who believe in God and those who are still trying to find themselves and thankfully God answered my prayer I’m super grateful to God.”

She acknowledge her spiritual Father Bishop David Oyedepo who is the President & founder of the Living Faith Church International aka Winners Chapel Worldwidewho prophesied her emergence as a world winner.

ESE BRUME PRESENTS OLYMPIC BRONZE MEDAL TO HER FATHER

God’s servant stated clearly that he has never won an Olympic medal, a feat of which may be termed impossible by virtue of his age, but here it is, brought to him by Ese Brume his daughter. He prayed for her, along side her coach, Mr Kayode.
