Victor Thompson’s early life and background are rooted in Lagos, Nigeria, where he was born in 1986. He hails from Okpara-Island in the Ethiopia East local government area of Delta State, a place that has undoubtedly influenced his upbringing and musical journey. Victor Thompson’s educational journey began at St. Anthony Nursery and Primary School for his primary education. Subsequently, he continued his schooling at Caleb International School. For his secondary education, he attended Government College, Ikorodu, both institutions located in Lagos State.
His pursuit of higher education led him to the Federal University of Petroleum Resources in Effurun, Delta State, where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science.

Thompson’s musical journey began in his early years, and it took a significant turn when he became a contestant on Season 2 of The Voice Nigeria in 2017.
His official debut in the music scene came with the release of his first single, “Miyeruwe,” in November 2018. Fast forward to January 2023, and he released the single “This Year (Blessings),” featuring the Nigerian co-singer Ehis D’Greatest. This track achieved remarkable success, securing the 35th spot on the Billboard U.S. Afrobeats chart and reaching as high as No. 14 on the Official Charts in the United Kingdom.
